Home for the Holidays

The other day Shelby's grandparents mentioned they were going to Orlando for Christmas. Shelby's aunt's family has a condo down there that is available. They said they wanted to take Shelby along.

I have to admit that I start to feel physically ill at the thought of her not being with us on Christmas Day. I cannot imagine having a decent holiday without her. The guilt is starting to creep in. Are her dad and I being too selfish if we say that she can't go? She only has 2 more Christmases at home before going off to college (which may actually be just to the other side of town from where we live but still). And its Christmas Day people!!!

So would you let your child go out of town with another family member for the week of Christmas?
